Worst safety problem - locked doors between cars. In case of emergency, no communication with conductor! Esp. bad when stuck in tunnel (frequent) AM: crowding, you can get crunched by closing doors; the lack of places to hold on, risk of falls. PM commute and late night - some smelly homeless guys (look dangerous but actually they just lie there). |

During morning commute hours, the average wait for the 1st train of each pair (they do run in pairs) is 5 minutes (0-10 minutes if you just missed one). During evening commute hours, the average wait is longer - 10 minutes (15-20 minutes if you just missed one). Off-commute average wait is much longer ~ 15-20 minutes. Plan accordingly: books help |

The F trains run in pairs. You wait a pretty long time then one arrives with the announcement one is directly behind it! |
