Situated in the heart of Manhattan, the Dahesh Museum of Art is devoted exclusively to 19th- and early 20th-century Academic European art. Named for Dr. Dahesh (1909-1984), an influential Lebanese writer and philosopher with a passion for European art, who acquired paintings, sculptures, prints, drawings and decorative arts that are the basis for the Museum’s collection. The Museum is also home to an exquisite shop and the delicious Café Opaline.
