Humanistic Judaism in New York City offers secular Jews a philosophy of life that integrates the value of Jewish identity with a belief in the importance of human reason and human power. Our NYC home of Judaism declares that reason, rather than faith, is the source of truth and that human intelligence and experience are capable of guiding our lives. It offers an opportunity to practice Judaism in ways that are consistent with our humanistic outlook. The City Congregation is a diverse group of people of all ages and all backgrounds. Our commitment to a message of tolerance and respect is exemplified by the diversity of race, ethnicity, religious affiliation and belief that characterizes our membership. No matter the nature of one's connection or what combination of programs and activities one attends, all are welcome and vital members of our community.
