What are HopStop Alerts?
HopStop Alerts are a new feature that we’ll be launching soon. Sign up for HopStop Alerts to find out when your MTA subway line or train is experiencing delays.
How does text messaging work and how much does it cost?
Text Messaging is a convenient way to send text messages directly to a mobile phone. The person receiving your message must subscribe to a wireless service plan that includes text messaging, which may have a fee. Most carriers limit each text message to about 160 characters, so we suggest you edit the message to reduce the number of messages sent. You must be a registered MyHopStop user to request directions by text message. Sign up for MyHopStop.

HopStop is available for the iPhone (download HopStop iPhone app), Android (download HopStop Android app), and BlackBerry (download HopStop BlackBerry app). We’re launching a Windows Phone app soon. Sign up to find out when our Windows Phone app launches.
In the meantime, we have a Blackberry launcher, and a mobile site. You can also send HopStop directions to a cell by text message.

How can I advertise on HopStop?
Find out about advertising opportunities on HopStop.
Since New York's MTA swtiched to a new trip planner, 511NY, I came back to HopStop only to find that there seems to be no way to trip plan using the crucial arrival time as opposed to the much less important departure time.
Will Hopstop consider allowing planning for arrival time? I really just don't understand why this option is not available.
Hopshop is life saver, but where is an app for Windows Phone? I desperately need it on my WP, since I dumped my iPhone recently (awful decision :( )
Hi Hopstop,
Is there a way to minimize travel time? It's really interesting that when given the choice Hopstop will often send me on a bus that takes longer rather than a subway that may be 5-10 minutes shorter. I'm not anti-bus, so I don't want to use the 'subway only' option. I do always want the shortest travel time, whether that means more or less walking, transfers, or modes.
Thanks!
Elena
ElenaB Thanks for your comment, Elena! We recommend you try subway only first, and if there's too much walking time then you can try subway/rail or bus to compare. Hope that helps!
When will a blackberry HopStop app be released?
Hi Ivan, thanks for your question. It's not in our plans just yet. Have you tried using our mobile site and directions by SMS?
Hi Alexandra,
I can't speak for Ivan, but while I appreciate your response, the mobile site is really no substitute for the iPhone app. I guess we will just linger, second class citizens with our dumb BlackBerries that are just so not shiny. Love you on the real Internet!
Hearts,
Berry
ClairGreen I understand your frustration, Clair. We're a pretty small team so we can't always do everything that we'd like to do but we'll certainly take your feedback into consideration. Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a comment, we appreciate it!
ClairGreen Clair, you'll be happy to know that our BlackBerry app is now available! You can download it here: http://hopstop.com/blackberry

Oh! When I have to enter in a random departure time in hopes of hitting an arrival time that's on or around the time of my appointment, that doesn't always happen on the first try. Especially when the trip takes approximately 2 1/2 hours and can involve up to 3 busses.
